For example\, if a section comprises students in Grade 3 between ages 10-13\, they are considered to be of the same playing standard and may compete together. \nThe Eisteddfod Team will endeavour to group similar ages together where possible. \nEisteddfod grades are based upon grade levels of the Australian Music Examinations Board (A.M.E.B.) While some flexibility may be given for younger performers\, memorisation is strongly encouraged for the best presentation. \nPerformances may be with or without accompaniment (a cappella permitted). Performers must provide their own piano/instrumental accompanist. \nAccompaniment may be provided by a backing track\, self-accompaniment by the songwriter/performer\, or a solo pianist/guitarist/instrumentalist. Backing tracks must be instrumental tracks only\, with no vocal lines. See General Participation Guidelines for backing track submission requirements.
