General Category Guidelines:
Eisteddfod grades are based upon grade levels of the Australian Music Examinations Board (A.M.E.B.). Performers may select their grade level from Grade 1 – A.Mus.A./L.Mus.A.
Section Specific Guidelines:
Performances must not exceed 8 minutes (this includes breaks between pieces).
Performances will be stopped at 1 minute over time.
Only students who are at A.Mus.A. or L.Mus.A. level may participate in this section.
Students must play 2 or more pieces, no more than one movement from a single work, within this time.
The pieces chosen must show contrast in style and period.
The repertoire chosen for performance MUST be taken from A.Mus.A, L.Mus.A or above levels in the A.M.E.B. Syllabus or equivalent. Pieces MUST be submitted with the relevant syllabus and level indicated.

Grand Piano and Piano Stool
Judging Criteria:
- Technical fluency and facility
- Intonation – pitch, tuning, tone quality
- Rhythm and timing
- Solo performance awareness and communication
- Stylistic awareness and appropriate stylistic choices
- Dynamics and articulation
- Repertoire is equivalent to A.Mus.A, L.Mus.A level or above
- Two contrasting pieces are performed
Immediate Point Deductions:
- 2 point deduction per 20 seconds over time
